Chas (played by Lucy Pargeter) has been struggling to come to terms with Grace’s death on Emmerdale as well as her partner Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt).
After the turmoil the Dingle family has faced in recent months, Chas is finding it increasingly harder to manage life on the ITV soap.
However, Paddy hopes to lift her spirits next week when he arranges a surprise date night for the pair, giving Chas some light during her time of grief.
Paddy needs some convincing himself however, as he has also been seen breaking down on several occasions in the last few weeks.

It’s up to Paddy’s best friend and Chas’ cousin Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) to try and organise the romantic meal.
Convincing Paddy, Marlon tells his friend it will all going according to plan but in traditional soap fashion, not everything turns out how it’s meant to.
As Chas and Paddy sit down to have their meal, the pair begin an augment which continues in full view of the village residents drinking in The Woolpack.
With Chas reeling from what’s happened, she finds herself comforted by Eric Pollard (Chris Chittnel) in an unexpected twist.
Alone together, Eric opens up about his past to Chas, revealing a tragic secret which he has harboured for many years.
After hearing the heartbreaking revelation, will Chas get a new perspective of her own grief and try to manage her own tragedy?

Elsewhere in the Dales, the Dingle clan could be bidding farewell to not one but two of their own in a shock double exit.
As the festive season approaches, Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb) is preparing herself for time behind bars for her involvement in the acid attack against Ross Barton (Michael Parr).
Debbie has resigned herself to the fact she will be sentenced after believing her fiancé Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) left her to start a life away from the village.
Little does she know her father Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) is the reason behind Joe’s disappearance after the Dale bad boy was led to believe he killed him last month.
As the truth begins to surface over Joe’s disappearance, Cain could also be making an exit from the ITV soap in a bid to flee his family’s fury.

In the coming weeks, Cain will discover he wasn’t the sole reason Joe died as Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) also had a hand in his death.
Graham has been struggling with the guilt over Joe’s death and has been secretly planning to pin the untimely demise on Cain.
With no other option than to run, could Cain leave the village for good or will he stay to fight for justice?
Charity Dingle star Emma Atkins hinted to Express.co.uk the family are set for more trauma , saying: “When you’ve got a strong family like that and it’s all falling apart, it’s really interesting to watch because you can’t always have a family which is at the top of their game.
“You’ve got to show the intricacies and the dynamics and the negative side to having all those things thrown at you.”
Emmerdale continues tonight at 7pm on ITV.
